In life, we are all born with distinct purposes, and for me, that purpose has always been centered around service, leadership, disruption, restoration, and community building. From my early days as a young volunteer tutoring elementary school students to my current role as a healthcare professional and Knox County Commissioner for District 1, I have been driven by a passion to make a positive difference in the lives of those around me.

A. Born to Serve: My journey in serving my community began early, from volunteering as a candy striper to tutoring kids and later joining organizations in college such as Circle K International and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. to serving as President of the Burlington Residents Association. These experiences instilled in me a deep sense of responsibility to uplift and support those in need.

B. Born to Lead: Throughout my life, I have taken on leadership roles in various organizations, from serving as an Executive Vice President At Knoxville College in which I led the effort to restore accreditation to serving in various leadership positions in many different Boards. Although each endeavor may or may not shown success, it is a testament to my unwavering commitment and resilience.

C. Born to Disrupt: As a Knox County Commissioner, I have witnessed firsthand the need to challenge outdated systems and promote unity over division. I refuse to accept the status quo, especially when it perpetuates injustice or stifles progress. My goal is to disrupt in a positive way, fostering change that brings people together rather than driving them apart.

D. Born to Restore Hope: In my 19 years as a healthcare professional, I have seen the transformative power of compassion and empathy. I believe in the importance of restoring hope, especially in times of crisis, and providing a listening ear to those who need it most.

E. Born to Build Community by Transcending: True community is built on acceptance, understanding, and embracing diverse perspectives. I have made it my mission to bridge divides, foster dialogue, and empower individuals to live authentically without fear of judgment.

So, why run for TN House of Representatives? The answer is simple: Why not? We are all called to different paths and moments in life that shape us and propel us forward. My decision to run felt right, and I believe that I may be called for such a time as this.

To everyone reading this, I want to remind you that you too have been called for such a time as this. Together, we can create meaningful transformation and, most importantly, have fun doing it. There is much work to be done, but with unity and determination, we can build a brighter future for all.
